Our Mission

Mission Statement

At The Chess Initiative, we strive for the education and spread of chess around the San Gabriel Valley.  We hope that this can domino into a bigger movement--effectively creating a larger chess community--here in San Gabriel.  Perhaps one day comparable to the chess scene in Saint Petersburg.

Action Plans

To nurture such a chess scene right here in San Gabriel Valley, we will partner with other organizations devoted to the spread of chess in the SGV, host educational meetings, and create unrated/rated tournaments alike.  We will also attempt to be consistent with our meetings and tournaments in order to prevent our members from losing interest.
